At Galway Family Doctors, our biggest priority is the wellbeing of our patients and we strive for the highest possible standards in achieving that goal.
Important COVID-19 information from Galway Family Doctors
Face masks that cover nose and mouth are now mandatory in the practice. We will no longer accept face shields. Please use hand gels provided throughout the practice.
Consultations will be done by phone where possible. Where face to face consults are necessary, we will limit them to one person (excluding young children) and we will limit them to as short a time as possible. Please do not attend the practice unnecessarily.
We ask all patients to prebook non-urgent appointments at least 7-10 days in advance (e.g. Ante natal, 6 week checks, childhood vaccinations, driving licence medicals, etc.)
This is to ensure safety of all our staff and most importantly our patients, some of whom are extremely vulnerable and high risk.
We will of course accommodate urgent and acute appointments when necessary.
Please also note: We require at least 48 hours notice for ordering repeat prescriptions.
We apologies to our patients for any inconvenience but these measures are necessary while we face the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Galway Family Doctors was founded by Dr. Niamh O’Brien and Dr. Elaine Byrne in 2013.
We work together as a team to offer a caring, personal and high quality service of Primary Health Care to all of our patients - older and younger, private and GMS (medical card), Galway residents and visitors to the area.
